8:15 AM: The opening ceremony of the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Public Employees Football Tournament has been successfully held. Now it's time for the teams to begin their exciting competition, vying for a place in the Finals.

Commenting on the tournament, the South Korean coach said: "I heard that the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Tournament is a major tournament for civil servants and workers. I hope everyone plays well, avoids injuries, and delivers beautiful and successful matches."

7:30 AM: Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Head of the Organizing Committee of the Competition, delivered the opening speech.

Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu stated that the tournament originated from the concerns of various organizations, including Tuoi Tre newspaper, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and the Vietnam Football Federation, to prepare the mindset, aspirations, and stature for the country to enter a new era.

Mr. Hieu emphasized that, over two seasons, the Vietnam Workers and Public Employees Football Tournament 2025 has become a beneficial and healthy playground, a place for interaction, meeting, sharing, inspiring, and motivating workers and public employees nationwide.

He stated that the tournament was significant in preparation for the 14th National Party Congress and in organizing practical activities to implement the major programs, resolutions, orientations, and policies of the Party and State, as well as in the context of the whole country focusing on implementing the revolution to streamline the administrative apparatus.

"We expect the tournament to continue building on the achievements of the previous two tournaments and create new colors and values. We believe that through this tournament, we will continue to affirm the stature and health of workers and civil servants nationwide," Mr. Hieu emphasized.

On behalf of the organizing committee, he extended his best wishes for a successful season to the referees, athletes, and fans, and expressed his gratitude to the diamond sponsor – Truong Hai Group (THACO), Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and all the brands that have partnered with the tournament.

On the morning of October 3rd, the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Employees Football Tournament commenced its Northern regional qualifying round at the Hanoi University of Technology Stadium.

The tournament will consist of two stages. The qualifying rounds will be held in the North (Hanoi) and the South (Ho Chi Minh City) to select the 16 best teams to participate in the National Finals, which will take place at the end of October in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Northern regional qualifiers brought together 16 participating teams, including: Bac Ninh Trade Union 1, Vietnam Education Trade Union, Ninh Binh Trade Union, Hai Phong City Trade Union, Dien Bien Trade Union, Hung Yen Trade Union, Hanoi City Trade Union, Bac Ninh Trade Union 2, Phu Tho Trade Union, Vietnam Health Trade Union, People's Police Trade Union, Vietnam Banking Trade Union, Vietnam Industry and Trade Trade Union, State Bank of Vietnam, VPBank, and Agribank.

The 16 teams will be divided into 4 groups, playing a round-robin format to determine the top 4 teams from each group and the top 4 teams from each group to advance to the quarterfinals. The quarterfinal matches will be played in a knockout format.

The four teams that qualify for the Semi-finals will simultaneously receive tickets to the National Finals. Meanwhile, the four teams eliminated in the Quarter-finals will continue to compete in a play-off to select the remaining two tickets to the Finals.

The total prize money for the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament in the Northern region qualifiers amounts to 170 million VND.

The regional qualifying champion receives 60 million VND, the runner-up receives 40 million VND, and the teams tied for third place each receive 20 million VND.

In addition, the regional qualifiers also have many other awards such as Best Player, Top Scorer, Best Goalkeeper, Most Fairplay Team, Most Impressive Cheerleading Team, and Best Referee Team. Each award is worth 5 million VND.

Besides organizing football matches, at the qualifying and final rounds, the Organizing Committee also implemented online interactive activities such as voting for the best goal, as well as direct interactive activities at the event areas such as: free examinations and consultations on sports medicine and musculoskeletal diseases; discount booths, mini-games with attractive prizes, etc., aiming to take care of the cultural and spiritual lives of workers and attract spectators to the stadium to watch and cheer.

A notable highlight is that all matches of the tournament are livestreamed on social media platforms within the Tuoi Tre ecosystem, the tournament's fanpage, and the Vietnam Trade Union fanpage. This allows fans who cannot attend the stadium to support the tournament and cheer on the players from afar.

Furthermore, the Organizing Committee has also received support from Vietnam Cable Television - VTVcab, whose VTVprime application will broadcast all matches of the tournament live.

In addition, FPT Television Company Limited (FPT Play) will also broadcast important matches of the tournament. With these partnerships, the Organizing Committee hopes that the tournament will reach a wider audience.

The 2025 Vietnam Workers and Public Employees Football Tournament is jointly organized by Tuoi Tre Newspaper, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and the Vietnam Football Federation. This is the third consecutive year the tournament has been held.
