Immediately after the match, coach Kim Sang Sik and striker Nguyen Dinh Bac - the best player of the match and also the best player of the tournament shared at the press conference.
Speaking after the historic victory, Coach Kim Sang Sik expressed his pride: “I am very happy and proud that U23 Vietnam won the championship for the third consecutive time. Thank you to the fans who came to the stadium to cheer and the spectators who watched from home. This victory is the result of a resilient fighting spirit and careful preparation over the past month.”

Admitting that he was under a lot of pressure when playing away from home with an overwhelming home crowd, coach Kim Sang Sik said: “I felt pressure but I believed in the team’s preparation. The match was very difficult, but the players fought patiently and deserved to win.”
The Korean coach also explained his special action of continuously waving a towel to direct from the sidelines: “Because the stadium is too big and the Indonesian fans are too crowded, it is difficult for verbal instructions to reach the players. I used the towel to signal the players to continue pressing and attacking.”

Regarding whether U23 Vietnam had carried out the plan as planned, coach Kim Sang Sik commented: “We did not create many attacking opportunities, but we preserved the game and maintained our defense until the end. Under the hot weather conditions, the players played to the best of their ability.”

Striker Nguyen Dinh Bac – the best player of the match and also the best player of the tournament, could not hide his emotions after the match: “I am very happy and excited. This is the third consecutive championship, an important stepping stone for bigger goals ahead such as the U23 Asian qualifiers and the SEA Games. Before the tournament, the whole team set the goal of winning the championship and today we have achieved it.”

With a 1-0 victory in the final match, U23 Vietnam not only successfully defended the title but also ended the journey at U23 Southeast Asia 2025 with a convincing mark. This is the result of thorough preparation, resilient fighting spirit and flexible direction from the coaching staff. This success also opens up hope for Vietnamese youth football in upcoming continental tournaments.
