Convincingly defeating Thailand, the Vietnamese women's team won 3rd place in Southeast Asia
The third place match took place this afternoon (August 19) at Lach Tray Stadium ( Hai Phong ). After the match, coach Mai Duc Chung said: “The Vietnamese women's football team played their best in this year's tournament. The loss to U23 Australia was just an accident for us. The opponent was strong and had a superior physique compared to the Vietnamese women's players.”
“In every match in this tournament, the Vietnamese women’s football team plays with more than 100% of their strength. I have nothing to complain about my players,” coach Mai Duc Chung added.

After the Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship, the Vietnamese women's team still has a very important goal this year, which is the SEA Games in December in Thailand.
Coach Mai Duc Chung revealed his plans for the Vietnamese women's football team: "After the Southeast Asian tournament, the players will return to their respective clubs. I will go to each stadium to monitor the players' performance and select more personnel for the Vietnamese women's team."
“In this year's tournament, I cannot add players from the U20 group to the national team, because the Vietnam U20 women's team and the Vietnam national women's football team are performing two different tasks at the same time.

After this tournament, I will promote some U20 players to the national team, giving them the opportunity to participate in the SEA Games," said coach Mai Duc Chung.
A very notable face of the Vietnamese women's team is captain striker Huynh Nhu. This player continues to play a pivotal role in the Southeast Asian championship, contributing greatly to the team's third place.
Coach Mai Duc Chung said about Huynh Nhu: “With Huynh Nhu, she always plays a very important role in the Vietnam women's football team. Whether Huynh Nhu scores or not in each match, she still shows her importance.”
“The 33rd SEA Games is still 4 months away, we still have enough time to prepare for the upcoming tournament. The goal of the Vietnamese women's football team is to win the gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games,” coach Mai Duc Chung affirmed.
