"I am very proud of the players' efforts. We all dreamed of the Asian Cup and committed to completing the goal of participating in this tournament. From the first day of training on May 19, all members of the team showed that they are a group of people who are eager to make their fans proud. And in fact, they proved the results of their training by winning against the Vietnamese team ," said coach Peter Cklamovski after defeating the Vietnamese team 4-0 at Bukit Jalil on the evening of June 10.

"In the first half, we created some chances and should have taken the lead. The most important factor in the second half was discipline and thanks to that , Malaysia won. It was positional discipline, formational discipline, in both attack and defense.

"This is the best lineup for this match. We made substitutions to take the game to a new level, and the substitutes also scored. I never rely on my best 11 players, I rely on the whole team, and the team spirit is very strong," the Malaysia captain added.

Regarding the use of 9/11 naturalized players in the main squad, coach Peter Cklamovski emphasized: "There are obstacles for the team, complaints about the fact that we have many naturalized players. I am fed up with that and have talked about it a lot in interviews. Hopefully today's result will unify football and the country."

With a 4-0 win in the first leg, the Malaysian team has a great chance of winning a ticket to the 2027 Asian Cup finals. Before the rematch in March 2026, coach Peter Cklamovski affirmed that the Malaysian team still has a lot of work to do.

"We won but there are still many points to improve such as physicality. Before the match, many predictions said we could not run more than Vietnam. In fact, the players tried their best for the entire 97 minutes," said the Australian strategist.
