Botafogo won 2-1 against Seattle Sounders on June 16 in the first match of Group B of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. In this match, Jair Cunha opened the score 1-0 for Botafogo in the 28th minute, before Igor Jesus headed the goal to increase the score to 2-0 in the 44th minute.
Then Cristian Roldan took advantage of a gap in Botafogo's defense to reduce the score to 1-2 in the 75th minute. This was also the final score of the match and Botafogo temporarily ranked second in Group B after PSG, with the same 3 points but inferior in goal difference (+1 compared to +4).
But what fans enjoyed in this match was Igor Jesus' celebration. Specifically, after scoring, Igor Jesus ran to the sidelines to celebrate with a Kamehameha, a very powerful attack created by Son Goku in the Dragon Ball manga series.
According to Brazilian press, Igor Jesus has a strong passion for the TV series "Dragon Ball Z". So every time Jesus scores a goal, he learns the familiar way of celebrating with his arms outstretched, his hands clasped together, symbolizing the release of a powerful wave of energy with his hands.
Jesus seemed to enjoy this way of celebrating, telling Brazilian magazine Mix Vale : "It's a way of expressing who I am, where I come from and what motivates me. Now even my wife does it at home, she even lifts the sofa and does it. It's a good thing."
