Coach Nguyen Thi Nhung makes history in Vietnamese shooting

This is the highest coaching certificate for shooting coaches worldwide , awarded only to those who pass rigorous exams or have students win medals at the Olympics or world championships.

Coach Nguyen Thi Nhung has made many important contributions to Vietnamese shooting since she was an athlete. After that, she continued to be associated with the sport as Head of the Shooting Department - General Department of Sports and Physical Training and Head Coach of the national shooting team. She also held the role of Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Shooting Federation.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung - former head coach of the national shooting team was awarded a Class A international shooting coach certificate by the International Shooting Federation.

During her time leading the team, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung and the athletes brought back many resounding achievements from the Southeast Asian region to the world arena. Notably, at the 2016 Rio Olympics, she and expert Park Chung-gun trained and directed shooter Hoang Xuan Vinh to win 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal and break 1 Olympic record. This was the highest achievement of Vietnamese sports in the history of nearly 79 years up to that point.

Although she has retired under the State regime, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung's contributions are still recognized by the International Shooting Federation. The Class A coaching certificate is a worthy recognition for her tireless efforts.

With this certificate, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung became the first Vietnamese shooting coach to be honored by the International Shooting Federation at the highest coaching level, on par with world-class coaches.
