This morning (October 16), the 18th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee, term 2025-2030, officially opened. General Secretary To Lam attended the opening session and is expected to deliver an important speech.

Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai - Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee said that recently, the Hanoi Party Committee has focused on leading, directing and successfully organizing Party congresses at all levels.

Leaders of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations launched many exciting patriotic emulation movements, creating an exciting atmosphere to welcome the 18th City Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

During the last term, besides the basic advantages, Hanoi also had to face many difficulties and challenges.

However, with the attention, leadership and direction of the Party Central Committee, often the Politburo, the Secretariat, the National Assembly, the Government, the attention and support of the Central Committees, ministries, branches, the Fatherland Front, central organizations, the Party Committee, the government, the army and the people of the capital have united, innovated, overcome all difficulties and challenges, and strived to successfully implement the Resolution of the 17th City Party Congress, term 2020-2025 with many outstanding results.

In particular, the work of building a clean and strong Party and political system has been comprehensively and synchronously deployed; the work of inspection, supervision, prevention of corruption, waste and negativity has been strengthened; the work of mass mobilization, propaganda, people mobilization, activities of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations have had many innovations;

Actively arrange and streamline the organizational apparatus to ensure that two-level local governments operate smoothly and better serve people and businesses.

The Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee also said that the capital's economy continues to affirm its leading position and driving force for the development of the Capital Region, the Northern Key Economic Region and the whole country; urban construction and development work has many positive changes.

The fields of culture, society, health, education and training have developed comprehensively and achieved many outstanding results; social security is guaranteed; the material and spiritual life of the people has been improved and enhanced.

National defense and security work is strengthened, social order and safety are maintained; key targets and national and international events taking place in the area are absolutely protected.

Successfully coordinating the organization of major holidays and anniversaries of the Capital and the country, especially the series of commemorative activities, including the 80th anniversary celebration, parade, and march of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2, has left a deep impression in the hearts of people across the country and international friends.

According to Secretary Bui Thi Minh Hoai, our country is entering a new era - an era of development, prosperity and strength of the nation.
