Coach Park Hang Seo will lead Kanchanaburi FC from next season.

Sharing his thoughts on his comeback, Mr. Park emphasized his desire to prove himself in a new context: "I want to prove to myself that time cannot be a barrier to challenges."

Before officially taking up his position in Thailand, Coach Park Hang-seo will continue to serve as an advisor to Bac Ninh FC until the end of the 2025/26 season. In addition, he will also participate as the head of the South Korean national team delegation in their World Cup campaign.

Coach Park Hang-seo is considered one of the most successful strategists in the history of Southeast Asian football. Under his leadership, Vietnamese football achieved a series of memorable milestones such as winning the 2018 AFF Cup, finishing as runner-up in the 2018 U23 Asian Championship, reaching the semi-finals of the 2018 ASIAD, the quarter-finals of the 2019 Asian Cup, and winning two consecutive SEA Games gold medals. Notably, he also helped the Vietnamese national team qualify for the final round of the World Cup qualifiers in the Asian region for the first time.

Choosing Thailand as his next destination was not a random decision. Previously, Park had rejected numerous offers from other countries, including Vietnam. After leaving his position as head coach of the Vietnamese national team, he had stated that he would not coach a national team in South Korea or Vietnam again, as a way to pave the way for the next generation of coaches.

Currently, Thailand has become a suitable choice for this strategist's ambition to conquer new challenges. Thai football has long been considered a fiercely competitive environment, but Korean coaches have yet to make a lasting impact. Kanchanaburi FC also places high hopes on the arrival of Coach Park Hang-seo. Although they were relegated after the 2025/26 season, the team is still considered to have strong financial potential and a clear development strategy. Their immediate goal is to gain promotion in the next season, before aiming to compete for the top spots in the Thai League within five years.

Furthermore, Kanchanaburi FC aspires to compete with powerhouses like Buriram United, secure a spot in the AFC Champions League, and elevate its standing in continental competition. To achieve this goal, the team has been preparing its squad early, with approximately 70% of the team finalized under the interim leadership of former South Korean international Lee Jung-soo.

After taking office, Coach Park is expected to bring about many changes in terms of professional and operational aspects. Modern models of Korean football, such as nutritional management, fitness enhancement, data analysis, and video, will be applied to improve the team's quality. Kanchanaburi FC also hopes that Coach Park Hang-seo's presence will contribute to promoting the local image to fans in the region. The tourist city of Kanchanaburi is considered a destination with great potential for combining sports and media.

"I've received many offers, but Thailand is a place where no South Korean coach has truly achieved complete success. That motivates me. I want to contribute to connecting South Korean, Vietnamese, and Southeast Asian football," he emphasized.
