At the Metropolitano Stadium on the morning of March 11th, Tottenham quickly collapsed, falling behind by three goals within just 15 minutes. Goalkeeper Kinsky, given the starting spot, experienced a nightmare. He made mistakes leading to two of the first three goals. Given the situation, interim manager Igor Tudor decided to substitute Kinsky after only 17 minutes of play.
However, what angered former goalkeeper Joe Hart wasn't just the substitution decision, but also Tudor's reaction. As Kinsky left the pitch, he only received comfort from members of the coaching staff, while the Croatian coach himself didn't even approach to encourage his player.
"Tudor didn't even look at or say anything to his goalkeeper. I was absolutely stunned," Hart bluntly remarked on television.
The former Man City goalkeeper expressed his sympathy for Kinsky, saying it was a huge emotional blow for a young player in a high-stakes match. "I feel really sorry for him. This is the Champions League, an extremely important game. But those 17 minutes were definitely a nightmare," Hart said.
According to Hart, Kinsky's mistake is unavoidable in football, but the coaching staff's handling of the situation is what's really concerning. He believes Tottenham are in a state of chaos, both professionally and psychologically.
After a dramatic 90 minutes, Tottenham suffered a 2-5 defeat against Atletico Madrid, putting them at a significant disadvantage going into the second leg. Given what happened, the pressure on Igor Tudor and his players will undoubtedly increase in the coming weeks.
