On July 24, the water level of rivers in the downstream area of the province such as Gua, Rang, Kinh Mon reached alert level I. It is forecasted that in the coming days, the water level of Thai Binh River will rise, and the rivers in the downstream area will change according to the developments of rain, floods and high tides.
To proactively prepare plans and be ready to respond, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Hai Duong province requested the Steering Committees of districts, cities, towns, relevant agencies and units to organize the announcement of flood discharge information to communes, wards, towns, people, organizations operating on rivers and along rivers; owners of aquaculture facilities on rivers, water transport vehicles, ferry terminals, construction works under construction... Urgently carry out the clearance of flood obstacles outside the riverbank such as temporary houses, materials, machinery, equipment... to ensure flood discharge.
Agencies, units and localities deploy flood prevention plans, ensure the safety of the dike system, pay attention to landslides and riverbanks that have not been treated. Protect newly planted rice fields, vegetable crops, concentrated aquaculture areas outside the riverbank, key vulnerable areas, projects under construction, and residential areas on the riverbank. Be prepared to respond when bad situations occur. Localities in the downstream areas of rivers affected by high tides proactively deploy plans to ensure safety when the water rises. Continue to implement drainage to prevent flooding, protect agricultural production due to the impact of rain from storm No. 2. Organize statistics, reports, assess damage and implement work to overcome the consequences of natural disasters in accordance with regulations.
According to the Hai Duong Province Irrigation Works Exploitation One Member Co., Ltd., by the afternoon of July 24, the entire province had basically overcome the situation of flooded rice fields due to heavy rain. To proactively respond to weather developments in the coming days, the unit continued to operate more than 100 pumping stations to lower the buffer water level on the main canal system.
