Artists join hands to auction paintings to support people affected by natural disasters

In late November 2025, when many provinces in the Central region suffered severe consequences from floods, many kind-hearted people in the artistic community, especially the Vietnamese fine arts community, simultaneously carried out activities to support people in flood-affected areas with practical gestures.

The auction of paintings by painters and artists shows the admirable beauty of contemporary Vietnamese art life. The sharing reflects the social responsibility of the art creator. Each painting is the result of labor, the crystallization of emotions, passion and talent, when entering the auction, it has taken on a new mission, becoming a means of conveying love and practical support for those in need.

Writer and journalist Nhu Binh has transferred all proceeds from the auction of the painting "Happiness" to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Thinh commune ( Dak Lak province). Hoa Thinh is one of the localities that suffered heavy damage in the flood, many households were left penniless. Besides, she also continued to spread the word so that friends, colleagues and kind-hearted people could conveniently send support to the people.

Also looking towards the central region, artist Ngo Xuan Khoi opened an auction for his work "Strengthening" (color on paper). The painting has a starting price of 5 million VND, with the hope that all the proceeds from the sale will be used to support people in areas affected by natural disasters.

In addition to individual activities, the artist group "Gop Do" has gathered many names who are actively working in Vietnamese fine arts to organize a group-scale painting auction program, raising 100% of the fund for people in flood-affected areas.

The program will take place from 7:30 p.m. on November 23 to November 24, with a commitment that all proceeds will be transferred directly to localities facing difficulties. A representative of the group of artists shared: "In the serious situation of the disaster area, each artist voluntarily donates at least one work from the upcoming exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts to join hands with the community."

The list of auctioned works is very rich in themes and genres, bringing together artists such as: Dang Tien, Tao Linh, Vo Luong Nhi, Duong Dinh, Nguyen Minh, Nguyen Nghia Cuong, Bui Tien Tuan, Nguyen Minh Hieu, Nguyen Doan Ninh, Vu Thai Binh , Doan Hoang Lam, Bui Van Tuat, Tran Vinh, Ha Huy Muoi, Dang Huu...

The art auctions not only contribute to creating material resources but also create an atmosphere of sharing, reminding artists of their social role. With works distilled from emotions and artistic labor, they have transformed colors and lines into concrete actions, into warmth sent to those struggling to cope with natural disasters.

Along with artists, many collectors and the public quietly transferred money or shared information, all contributing to creating a flow of charity when our people are in difficulty.

Writer Nhu Binh shared that when many localities are struggling with natural disasters, perhaps no one can rest assured. The painting "Happiness" was originally drawn by her in a moment of peace, and now she has the opportunity to share that peace with those in need. Sharing is like sending a greeting, a hand holding the hand of the people in difficult times.

"I know my strength is small, but I believe in the resonance of hearts, because when we all turn to each other, even with very small things, it is already a precious thing and should be done. I hope that people in the disaster area will soon overcome their loss, so that one day soon, the sun will warm up their roofs again," said writer Nhu Binh.

This is not the first time he has put his paintings in charity auctions, but each time, artist Nguyen Minh and his colleagues have very different feelings, sometimes nervous, sometimes choked up and feel their hearts quietly warm up.

For artists, each painting that leaves the studio to embark on a new journey carries with it the hope that their work can contribute a small part in helping someone become more steadfast in difficult times.

Seeing the people struggling after the flood, the artists understand that their contributions may not be enough to compensate for such a great loss, but they have paintings and hearts. For them, if the lines and colors they create can be transformed into a few blankets, food and give people more confidence to stand up after the rain and flood, then it is worth doing, worth continuing.

In the support program, most of the artists chose outstanding works to participate in the auction. These are creations with an optimistic spirit and colors that convey hope to people in disaster areas.

Many artists even carefully prepare the frame and install it carefully before publishing, so that the recipient can feel the respect. That care shows the sincerity of the art world: Each painting is a gift prepared with kindness and sincerity, hoping to bring the people more warm encouragement.

Besides the ongoing auctions, there are still many artists, collectors, and art lovers who quietly open their hearts and are willing to contribute in their own way.

In difficult times, beautiful actions like warm fire, arousing the spirit of mutual love, are always present, becoming the support of the community. It is from these quiet acts of kindness that the belief in the solidarity and kindness of the Vietnamese people continues to be nurtured, to overcome all challenges together.
