Hoang Thuy dropped out of the Victoria's Secret casting.

On May 16th, runner-up Hoang Thuy shared a story related to Victoria's Secret's open audition. Previously, she announced her participation in Victoria's Secret's online casting. However, the beauty queen did not announce the results of this casting round, leaving many viewers wondering.

Hoang Thuy said that on April 2nd, when Victoria's Secret posted the announcement about holding open casting for their new show, she felt very excited because, after more than 15 years, this was a rare occasion for Victoria's Secret to open up a wide selection process to the community, instead of just casting directly with professional international models as before.

Hoang Thuy withdrew from the Victoria's Secret casting because she did not meet the eligibility requirements.

On April 6th, Victoria's Secret opened registration on its website and announced the full eligibility requirements. These included applicants needing to be 18 years of age or older, not affiliated with a management company, not necessarily a professional model, a legal resident of the United States, and legally eligible to work in the United States.

Hoang Thuy stated that after realizing she did not meet the requirements for residency and legal eligibility to work in the US, she did not submit her casting application.

Hoang Thuy said that although she doesn't meet the requirements to participate at the moment, she will continue to train and prepare herself if a more suitable opportunity arises in the future.

"I think that striving towards a goal or a dream is a completely positive thing. Maybe I'm not qualified or have the right opportunity right now, but the process of trying always helps each person become better every day. For me, what's important is not just the result, but also the spirit and the process of daring to try, daring to pursue goals, and constantly improving myself," she said.

Hoang Thuy said that the dream of walking the Victoria's Secret runway has been with her for 14 years, since the early days of her career. She emphasized that her goal is not simply to participate in a selection process, but to find opportunities through international management companies, especially IMG Models - a management agency with close ties to Victoria's Secret in developing and supplying models.

While Hoang Thuy was not eligible to participate in the casting, runner-up Truong Tri Truc Diem passed the online casting round and participated in the Victoria's Secret live selection round in Los Angeles, USA on May 14th.

However, her catwalk performance at the casting received negative reactions. Many viewers commented that Truc Diem walked unsteadily, her feet were not firm, and she didn't have good grip on the floor.

Responding to the mixed reactions, Truc Diem explained that when she first posed, one of her shoe straps was loose and almost came undone, causing her to feel a little nervous. "I completed the walk as best I could under those circumstances," she said. Truc Diem also stated that she would accept everyone's feedback to improve further.

Besides Truc Diem, another Vietnamese beauty invited to participate in Victoria's Secret casting in the US is Tu Ny. Tu Ny, born in 1997, is from Can Tho (formerly Soc Trang). She has a harmonious face and her measurements are 80-59-90 cm. Tu Ny previously tried her luck at Miss Universe Vietnam 2021 but did not advance far. In 2025, she moved to Singapore, and later to the US.

While working domestically, Tú Ny was a student of Võ Hoàng Yến. She participated in numerous shows by renowned designers and large-scale fashion events such as Vietnam International Fashion Week.

After the live casting round, the selected candidates will advance to the third round – a catwalk performance under high-intensity lighting to win a spot in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2026 and a contract with IMG Models.
