Vietnam is becoming a major post-production hub for the world, participating in blockbuster films for Disney, Netflix, and foreign studios from Europe, North America, and Asia. So, what majors should young people study to pursue this "hot" field?

At 2 PM on April 23rd, the online television consultation program organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper, themed "When the cultural industry takes off, AI changes the rules of the game: What should young people choose in visual effects (VFX), 3D animation, and game graphics?", will help young people better understand these highly sought-after fields of study in the post-production and entertainment industries.

We live in an era where imagination knows no bounds. From the epic battles in the science fiction film Dune: Planet of the Sand, the fantastical creatures in Avatar, to the vibrant worlds in video games... all these blockbuster films are crafted by the hands of technological 'wizards'.

But what lies behind those million-dollar films or captivating games? Is a passion for drawing or gaming enough to sustain you in the fields of visual effects (VFX), 3D animation, or game graphics?

According to reports, the global VFX, 3D Animation, and Game market generates enormous revenue, hundreds of billions of dollars annually. In Vietnam, the success of the film "Red Rain," with over 700 special effects shots and an all-time box office record of 714 billion VND, as well as the films "Battle in the Air" and "Tunnel," which also achieved resounding success in terms of reputation and commercial success, all benefited from significant investment in 3D special effects.

In addition, national music shows such as the A80 music festival or the "Brother Overcoming a Thousand Obstacles" concert feature a high level of 3D special effects on the stage's LED screens. The strong development of Vietnam's entertainment and media industry is a great opportunity for those working in post-production to showcase their talents.

To work in this field, young people can choose from three majors: visual effects (VFX), 3D animation, and game art design. But what are the similarities and differences between these fields of study?

After graduation, will the career path be limited to film or game development, or can it expand into other fields such as advertising, architecture, or education? Can someone who studies VFX work in the game industry? Can someone who studies 3D animation work in film or game development? What are the salary and career advancement opportunities like after studying these fields?
