During this year's Hung Kings Commemoration Day and Hung Kings' Cultural and Tourism Week, the Hung Kings Museum, in coordination with local Departments of Education and Training and schools, organized history lessons at the museum to help cultivate students' love for their homeland, their awareness of history, and their application of learned knowledge to the preservation and promotion of the nation's precious cultural values.

Studying History at the Museum

Students from Gia Cam Secondary School learn about artifacts from the Hung King era displayed at the Hung King Museum.

According to Ngo Duc Quy, Director of the Hung Vuong Museum: History lessons at the museum are organized to promote and educate students about historical traditions and cultural heritage, especially the two intangible cultural heritages of humanity, "The Hung Vuong Worship Belief" and " Phu Tho Xoan Singing," through the thematic exhibition "Hung Vuong Culture in the Flow of Red River Civilization" and exhibits at the museum, watching documentary films, organizing experiential activities, watching and practicing Xoan singing, and participating in folk games at the museum.

On the opening day of the exhibition "Hung Vuong Culture in the Flow of Red River Civilization," 150 students from Gia Cam Secondary School (Viet Tri City) learned about artifacts from the pre-Hung Vuong and Hung Vuong periods, typical images and artifacts belonging to the Phung Nguyen, Dong Dau, Go Mun, and Dong Son cultures, and important traces in the formation and construction of the first Vietnamese state - the Van Lang state. They also learned about the country's history and culture through the exhibition complexes, cultural heritage of the ancestral land, and great victories in the resistance war against the French in Phu Tho... Not only did the students directly view and listen to explanations about the images and artifacts on display, but they also interacted and answered questions from the guides related to the artifacts to better understand each historical period... thereby contributing to raising the awareness and responsibility of the younger generation towards the nation's cultural heritage.

Studying History at the Museum

Students from Tho Son Primary School learn about the Hung Kings worshiping tradition through artifacts displayed at the museum.

In particular, these students were the first to see the documentary "The Hung Kings Era," produced in full HD using 3D special effects. The film provides an overview of the Hung Kings era, from the time the Hung Kings founded, established, and defended the nation, vividly portrayed through legends associated with the Hung Kings period. The screening of this documentary is significant, offering viewers a new, more engaging and understandable approach to Vietnamese national traditions and culture. It also contributes to promoting awareness and responsibility within the community regarding the preservation and promotion of the cultural and historical values left by our ancestors, further spreading the value of two representative intangible cultural heritages of humanity: "The Hung Kings Worship Belief" and "Phu Tho Xoan Singing."

Ta Gia Han, a student in class 7A3 at Gia Cam Secondary School, shared: "Watching the documentary 'The Hung Kings Era' made me even more proud of my nation's history. The images in the film are beautiful, and the content is easy to understand and engaging, helping us to better understand the traditions and culture of the Vietnamese people."

In April, the Hung Vuong Museum continued to collaborate with schools to organize History Lessons at the museum, providing students with a new, more engaging and understandable approach to history, fostering interest and enthusiasm for the subject. Simultaneously, this contributes to further enhancing the effectiveness of traditional education, instilling national pride, cultivating patriotism, and raising community awareness of responsibility in preserving and promoting the cultural and historical values left by our ancestors.
