This tuition fee table is compiled based on information articles from Thanh Nien Newspaper and the official websites of the schools.

Public and private universities have different tuition fees for different fields of study. High-demand fields such as information technology and medicine often have higher tuition fees than social sciences or education.

Many universities apply tuition fees by credit with the formula of multiplying the price of 1 credit by the total number of credits of the program and then dividing by the number of years of study.

Tuition fees in 2024 are determined according to Decree 81 of 2021 and Decree 97 of 2023 of the Government, in which the ceiling for public schools that are not financially autonomous is from 1.2 - 2.45 million VND/month depending on the industry. Autonomous schools can charge tuition fees 2.5 times higher than the ceiling and decide on their own tuition fees for accredited programs.

According to Circular No. 9 of 2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training, schools must make tuition fees public. Most universities provide information on tuition fees for a credit, the number of credits in a semester or the entire course on their websites. Others provide estimated tuition fees for a school year or the entire course. In addition, tuition fees vary from year to year and some schools provide a roadmap for tuition increases for each year.

During the admission season, many websites and mainstream newspapers publish articles about school tuition fees for parents and new students to refer to. From there, new students and their parents must calculate the tuition fee for a year based on the number of credits they must study in a year.

The article 'Red eyes' looking for university tuition fees under 20 million VND/year in Thanh Nien Newspaper on August 25 also reflected the reality that few schools have majors with tuition fees under 20 million VND/year.

In the context of tuition fees continuing to increase, finding a school with tuition fees under 20 million VND/year has become difficult, especially when many schools have applied financial autonomy mechanisms.
