Students in Ninh Binh will start school earliest, from August 22nd.

GD&TĐ - Ninh Binh province has just issued the framework plan for the 2025-2026 school year for preschool education, general education, and continuing education.

According to the plan, students will return to school on August 29th. However, students in the first and last grades, including grades 1, 9, and 12, will return earlier, starting on August 22nd.

On September 5th, the entire province simultaneously held the opening ceremony for the new school year.

The first semester begins on September 5th and ends before January 17th, 2026.

Semester II begins on January 19, 2026, and ends before May 25, 2026.

The school year will end before May 31, 2026.

The high school graduation exam and other national-level exams are organized according to the guidelines and regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. The Director of the Department of Education and Training will decide on the timing of provincial-level student excellence competitions.

The process of recognizing the completion of primary school and junior high school graduation will be completed before May 31, 2026. Enrollment for the first-year classes of the 2026-2027 school year must be completed before July 31, 2026.

Public holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year) holidays are observed according to the regulations of the Labor Code and related documents. The Director of the Department of Education and Training is authorized to decide on school closures in cases of severe weather, natural disasters, or other special circumstances, ensuring that the progress of the school year is not affected.

In exceptional circumstances due to natural disasters or epidemics, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee may decide to extend the school year, but not by more than two weeks compared to the originally issued plan.
