A special point in the graduation ceremony of the final year students of Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted is that each class chooses its own accessories such as hats, wings, badana, bags... bearing the spirit of their class to add to the daily uniform that has accompanied them for the past 3 years of school.

Plastic hats and walkie-talkies imitating the style of a famous fried chicken brand in the world are accessories chosen by the 12CA2 class, exciting many students when the "trend" of imitating fried chicken brands is gaining attention on social network TikTok.

The “specialty” of the farewell day of Le Hong Phong students is the flashmob dance activity on the school yard, including two solo dances, one couple dance and one group song that the students diligently practiced at the end of each class after 2 consecutive months. This is an activity to connect students together, together creating beautiful moments during the last days of high school.

The highlight of the performance was the countless dreamcatchers. Nguyen Minh Hang, a 12SN student, shared that in Native American culture, dreamcatchers help protect newborns from nightmares. “That’s why we chose this accessory because it will help protect the dreams and brightest aspirations of the ‘babies’ when they have to leave the protective arms of Le Hong Phong High School,” Hang explained. Regarding the reason for choosing the two tones of red and yellow, the female student said that red is the main color of the program, and yellow is the color of the students’ new gym uniform after many years of the older generation being attached to the color blue.

After finishing the dance, the seniors were able to return to their early days at Le Hong Phong High School through the activity “Unspoken Words”. Hundreds of students raised their 10 fingers and then lowered them one by one “if they felt ‘special’ as the first yellow color of the school”, “if they had a crush on Le Hong Phong’s beauty”, “if they wanted to have an arm to hug everyone right now”...

The male student was moved when recalling many memories he had with his friends at Le Hong Phong High School, and then burst into emotion at the end of the challenge, "fold one finger down if you believe that you will 'always be happy' because you were a part of Le Hong Phong", "fold one finger down if you know that at Le Hong Phong there was a person who was easy to say hello to back then, but now cannot say goodbye", and "fold one finger down if you have no regrets"...

The program ended when students from all classes started to find each other and give each other colorful ribbons. The yellow ribbon was for the person who made you smile the most, the orange ribbon was for the person you wanted to thank the most, the blue ribbon was for the person you wanted to apologize to the most, the pink ribbon was for the person you didn’t want to leave the most, and the red ribbon was for yourself for trying your best.

Tears and tight hugs to share regrets are indispensable in the moment of preparing to say goodbye.

Nguyen Bao Da Huyen, a 12th grade student, and her classmates confidently showed off their unicorn horns and rainbow wings. “We are very proud and happy to be the first generation to wear yellow uniforms, always able to stand out wherever we are. This is our ‘dragon robe’,” Huyen shared.

Nguyen Ly Nha Thy, a 12CV2 student, Head of the Organizing Committee, shared that the program was launched at the beginning of the school year and has been maintained throughout the school year. A total of 99 members participated in the organization, all of whom are students. They were divided into 5 specialized committees: program, arts, administration - logistics, design - engineering and communications. Thy confided that this was the first time Le Hong Phong High School had a generation wearing yellow shirts, and this marked a strong change in both image and spirit. "I wish everyone will always keep the flame of today's perfect moments, which is dedication, determination and the desire to conquer great goals. We are the pioneering generation, strongly paving the way for innovation," Thy proudly said.

The graduation ceremony, part of the traditional 12th grade program organized by students of Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, has now marked 17 years of operation and has become a premise for other high schools in Ho Chi Minh City to join in. In addition to the graduation ceremony, the program also organizes a series of events throughout to preserve memorable memories of final year students such as exam support and student exhibitions.

"Our generation is a brave generation, adapts quickly and is constantly innovating. Despite facing many changes, from the curriculum to extracurricular activities, you are always united, creative and proactive in contributing. Those efforts have been duly rewarded," Thy confided.
