The 25th Asian Physics Olympiad was held from May 4 to 12 in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, with 30 delegations from 29 countries and territories participating with 208 contestants.
According to the APhO Olympic regulations, students taking the exam will take two theoretical (5 hours) and practical (5 hours) exams.
This year's theoretical exam is built on practical and modern applications of Physics such as: The precession of the Earth's axis causes global climate effects; Spin waves are related to quantum computers and the greenhouse effect. The practical exam is built on the basis of the electromagnetic induction effect and its application in induction cookers.
The Vietnamese delegation ranked in the group of 5 countries and territories with the highest achievements: China, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, the Russian Federation and Vietnam.
With 3 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals and 2 Bronze Medals, this year's achievements of the Vietnamese team are considered to be superior to last year (2024: 1 Gold Medal, 1 Silver Medal, 6 Bronze Medals).
The APhO 2025 Organizing Committee will hold the closing ceremony and award ceremony on May 12, 2025, starting at 15:00 (Saudi Arabia time).
