Previously, Chairman of Hoi An City People's Committee Nguyen Van Son said that the city is developing a ticket control plan for tourists traveling in groups. Hoi An City is collecting opinions from residents, businesses, travel agencies, and state management agencies, then will hold a press conference to widely announce this plan on mass media. If the residents highly agree, the city will implement it.
Hoi An City will listen to all comments and suggestions to make appropriate adjustments and revisions to the plan before implementation.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoi An City emphasized that organizing ticket sales aims to ensure fairness for ticket buyers and non-ticket buyers when visiting the ancient town as well as creating fairness between legitimate businesses and businesses that intentionally bring in illegal tourists.
"Hoi An City does not have a policy requiring everyone entering the old town to buy tickets. Those who do not have to buy tickets include: city residents when entering and exiting the old town; people coming to Hoi An to work in the old town or to do business. In the process of controlling tickets to visit the old town, the city will implement them flexibly. If any problems arise, they will be adjusted promptly," said the Chairman of the Hoi An City People's Committee.
Currently, visitors to Hoi An ancient town must buy tickets if they want to visit certain places with explanations. Tickets for domestic visitors are 80,000 VND/person, and for international visitors are 120,000 VND/person.
