Dong Thap Province Veterans Association: Stable activities, helping each other overcome difficulties

Tan Dong Commune Veterans Association attended the Ceremony to present the Decision to establish the Association.

The Association of War Veterans of Tan Dong commune has coordinated with the commune's socio -political organizations to propagate new guidelines and policies, movements and campaigns launched by the Central and local governments. Organized and implemented emulation movements: "Exemplary War Veterans", "War Veterans help each other reduce poverty, do good business", "Building new rural areas", mobilizing members to participate in repairing and building "War Veterans' Affection" houses; at the same time, taking care of, visiting and encouraging members in difficult circumstances.

After perfecting the organization and consolidating the Association's activities according to the Decision of the Provincial Veterans Association, the Association has developed regulations and operating programs for the Standing Committee, Executive Committee, and Inspection Committee and assigned each comrade in the Standing Committee and Executive Committee to be in charge of each field; stipulated a regular reporting regime to the Provincial Veterans Association, promptly grasping the ideological situation of members and the activities of each branch.

The Executive Committee of the Commune Veterans Association regularly directs and guides the hamlet branches to maintain a routine of activities suitable to the practical situation, especially the task of participating in Party building, government building, promoting the role of gathering and uniting members, and educating the younger generation about revolutionary traditions.

The work of perfecting the organization and consolidating the personnel of the Executive Committee and key positions of the Association of War Veterans of the commune after the merger has 23 branches, with 369 members. Chairman of the Association of War Veterans of Tan Dong commune Nguyen Van Vui said: "Thanks to the active stabilization of the organization, professional and technical work, after the merger, the cadres and members of the Association of War Veterans of Tan Dong commune are always assured and confident in the leadership of the Party and the management of the local government; actively participate in the movements of the Association and the locality, maintain security and order at the grassroots level".

It is known that, on the occasion of the recent War Invalids and Martyrs Day and the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2, the Association of War Veterans of Tan Dong commune built a "Comradeship" house for member Tran Van Hoang, a 2/4 class war invalid, with housing difficulties, with a total value of 95 million VND (the Association of War Veterans of the commune supported 50 million VND, the rest was contributed by the family).
