The Association regularly strengthens its network and coordinates with the Health Stations of communes and towns to do a good job of combining Eastern and Western medicine in medical examination and treatment.
To improve the professional qualifications of members in the district, the District Oriental Medicine Association focuses on professional training through the form of exchanging experiences, sharing good remedies, precious medicinal plants, creating conditions for members to improve their professional skills and pass them on to the younger generation. Many medical examination and treatment facilities have invested in modern facilities and equipment to meet the needs of medical examination, treatment and health care of the people. Many cadres and members are typical examples of not only being good at medical skills but also having good medical ethics. A typical example is physician Nguyen Trong Hien, owner of Hoi Xuan medical examination and treatment facility in Goi town. Every day, Mr. Hien's facility receives 25-30 patients. Imbued with Uncle Ho's teaching "A good physician is like a mother", he constantly improves, actively studies and cultivates ethics. In particular, when he knows that a patient coming for examination is in difficult circumstances, he supports or treats him for free. On weekends, he and members of the Vu Ban District Oriental Medicine Association organize free visits and medical examinations for disabled children and families with difficult circumstances. With his passion and dedication to the profession, Mr. Hien has "passed on the torch" to his son to study and develop the profession. In addition to Mr. Hien, the District Oriental Medicine Association has many outstanding physicians with high expertise such as: Do Ngoc Chiem, Tran Tuan Voc, Pham Ngoc Phoi, Vu Duy Chinh... who are trusted by patients.
To improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, the District Oriental Medicine Association also promotes propaganda and guides people on how to use traditional Vietnamese medicinal plants at home to treat some common diseases, helping people proactively prevent diseases. The District Oriental Medicine Association has built a model traditional Vietnamese medicinal garden, expanding it to the whole district, notably the Dai Thang Commune Oriental Medicine Association with a total area of hundreds of hectares, annually supplying the market with about 100 tons of medicinal plants such as Scrophularia, Achyranthes, Alisma... bringing profits to members.
Making efforts in medical examination, treatment and health care for the people, every year the District Traditional Medicine Association and its branches organize medical examination and treatment for about 50,000 people; the recovery rate reaches 60%; the disease condition is reduced by 25%. In addition, the District Traditional Medicine Association regularly conducts charity work, providing free medicine to victims of Agent Orange, policy families, the elderly, disabled children... In 2024, the Association organized the giving of 50 gifts to disabled children, each gift worth 800,000 VND; organized free medical examination and treatment for more than 800 elderly people...
In the coming time, Vu Ban Oriental Medicine Association will continue to strengthen its organizational network; cooperate with the District Health Center, Health Stations of communes and towns to do a good job of combining Eastern and Western medicine to take care of people's health. Promote training and education activities, improve the quality of medical ethics and skills, and build an increasingly strong association. Improve the quality of medical examination and treatment in the clinics; apply scientific and technical measures, invest in more tools, equipment, and machinery to effectively serve the work of medical examination and treatment.
