On the morning of July 25, the Women's Union of Khanh Hoa province held a conference to summarize the "Godmother" program for the period 2021 - 2025.

At the conference, the leaders of the Provincial Women's Union reported on the results of the implementation of the "Godmother" program for the period 2021 - 2025. Delegates and children interacted with 2 godmothers and 4 orphaned students in difficult circumstances to better understand the support activities for them and their efforts to overcome difficulties.

According to the report, implementing the "Godmother" program, 100% of the provincial associations have developed plans and mobilized organizations and individuals to sponsor children in various forms such as: supporting monthly child support; supporting contributions when children go to school; giving school supplies, clothes, food... on every holiday, New Year, and the beginning of the new school year. The associations also propagate and mobilize godmothers to spend time accompanying children in their studies; teach basic knowledge and skills; share, confide, and encourage children to rise up in life... As a result, the whole province has 720 direct godmothers in the locality, 242 indirect godmothers; There are 23 children orphaned by Covid-19 and more than 1,000 children orphaned by other causes who are supported by godmothers with monthly financial support, with the lowest support level being 400,000 VND/child and the highest being 1 million VND/child.

Leaders of the Provincial Women's Union, the Provincial Association for the Protection of the Disabled, Poor Patients and Children's Rights, and sponsors presented scholarships and gifts to the children.

On this occasion, the Provincial Women's Union together with the Provincial Association for the Protection of the Disabled, Poor Patients and Children's Rights presented 100 scholarships (VND 1 million/scholarship and gifts) to orphans in difficult circumstances. At the program, the sponsors presented scholarships to 2 orphans and 2 gifts to disabled women in especially difficult circumstances, each worth VND 2 million.

On the same morning, the Provincial Women's Union also held an award ceremony for the online quiz contest to learn about Project 8 "Implementing gender equality and solving urgent issues for women and children in the period 2021 - 2025" and related laws.

The contest took place from June 5 to 15 and received the attention and response of 2,658 officials, civil servants, members, women and people. Contestants answered 50 multiple-choice questions on: Law on Gender Equality 2006; Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence 2022; knowledge on mobilizing to change "thinking and doing" to contribute to eliminating gender prejudices, gender stereotypes in families and communities, backward cultural practices; building and replicating models of changing "thinking and doing", promoting gender equality and solving urgent problems of women and children; knowledge on gender equality, skills in implementing gender mainstreaming for officials in the political system, village elders, village chiefs, religious dignitaries and prestigious people in the community... As a result, the Provincial Women's Union awarded prizes to 6 collectives (1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes) and 34 individuals (1 first prize, 3 second prizes, 10 third prizes, 20 consolation prizes).
