223 outstanding students of the International Young Informatics Talent Competition for the 2024-2025 school year in Hanoi were honored at the conference.

On September 20, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training held a Conference to summarize the Hanoi International Young Informatics Talent Competition for the 2024-2025 school year. In its third edition, the competition achieved many positive results, bringing practical and long-term significance to the education and training career of the capital.
According to IIG Vietnam Education Organization - the accompanying unit responsible for the professional and technical aspects of the contest, this year's contest continues to receive widespread attention and response from schools, teachers, students and parents of nearly 1,000 schools (primary, secondary, high schools) in the city. With all rounds being completely free, the contest attracted nearly 50,000 students to participate.
Mr. Doan Hong Nam, Chairman of IIG Vietnam, reported the competition's conclusion.
After the qualifying round, 3,400 students were selected for the preliminary round. Of these, over 80% of the candidates met international standards according to the IC3 Spark & IC3 assessment scale. Next, nearly 1,000 of the most outstanding students were selected to compete in the official exams (final round) according to international standards: IC3 Spark, IC3 and MOS. Of these, 99.7% of primary school students, 77% of secondary school students and over 82% of high school students met international standards. These numbers demonstrate the quality and uniformity of Hanoi students at all three levels.
In particular, the contest recorded many students achieving the absolute score of 1000/1000 – the highest score according to international standards. This is not only an outstanding personal achievement but also a testament to the ability to master technology, the spirit of conquering knowledge and the courage to integrate internationally of the Capital’s students.
At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded a total of 223 individual prizes, including First, Second, Third and Encouragement prizes to students with the best achievements at each level. In addition, 8 collective prizes were awarded to exemplary schools with outstanding achievements in propaganda, organization, training and creating conditions for students to participate.
Mr. Doan Hong Nam, Chairman of IIG Vietnam, said: The Hanoi City International Young Informatics Talent Competition for the 2024-2025 school year has ended successfully; contributing to strongly promoting the teaching and learning of Informatics according to international standards in general schools; becoming a source of motivation to encourage students to study, practice digital skills and core competencies of the 21st century such as logical thinking, creativity, problem-solving skills and international integration capacity.

With its large scale and the participation of many schools, the contest has spread the information technology learning movement widely throughout the industry, receiving the attention and support of teachers, parents and the whole society. In particular, the contest also has strategic significance when it is associated with the realization of the spirit of important resolutions of the Central Committee, specifically Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation, along with Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in education and training development.
In the 2025-2026 school year, IIG Vietnam Education Organization proposed that the Hanoi Department of Education and Training allow it to continue launching and directing the organization of the International Young Informatics Talent Competition, considering this as one of the key activities to improve the quality of IT education and digital skills for students in the capital towards improving the quality of the competition, expanding the scale of participation, and increasing the rate of students meeting international standards.
Educational innovation goes hand in hand with digital transformation
Speaking at the ceremony, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong affirmed that Hanoi is one of the localities with the largest educational scale in the country with 2,954 kindergartens and general schools, nearly 2.3 million students, and 143,000 teachers.

In the context of the world entering the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Hanoi continues to affirm its pioneering position in the country in applying information technology, developing STEM education, promoting digital teaching, and building a smart and modern educational ecosystem. The industry has effectively implemented more than 800 topics on innovative teaching methods associated with technology and STEM, creating a strong spread in schools.
The results achieved by students and schools in this competition are vivid evidence of the spread of the movement of learning and creating information technology among students in the capital; at the same time, it clearly demonstrates that digital capacity and creative thinking are being nurtured more and more strongly in the young generation. It is also the common achievement of the entire education sector in Hanoi under the close direction of the Ministry of Education and Training, the City Party Committee, the People's Council, and the City People's Committee; the responsible and professional accompaniment of units and partners; the dedication of teachers, the support of parents and the efforts of students.

The Director of the Department of Education and Training said that in the 2025-2026 school year, the Capital's Education sector will continue to innovate education associated with digital transformation to create a breakthrough in improving the quality of education.
The industry focuses on building a digital competency framework for students, promoting the "Digital Literacy" movement throughout the industry, and popularizing digital skills so that every student in the capital can become a true digital citizen.
Applying artificial intelligence (AI) in management, career counseling and personalizing the learning process, helping teachers and students access advanced and modern educational methods. Moving towards forming a "smart school" model from pilot to replication to create a modern educational ecosystem, paving the way for generations of students in the capital to be ready for global integration.

Schools continue to consider IT education and digital skills as a core task, associated with digital transformation in management and teaching. Teachers actively innovate methods, apply technology and artificial intelligence in teaching and career guidance; and students in the capital nurture a passion for technology, a desire for innovation and creativity, and confidently conquer international playgrounds.
“The Hanoi Department of Education and Training will continue to research and coordinate with units to organize useful playgrounds to help students in the capital exchange, learn, develop skills and foster IT capacity, thereby contributing to the formation of a generation of dynamic and creative digital citizens,” affirmed the Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.
