Consultation and review workshop on the Quang Ninh marine economic development plan.

On April 12th, the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Quang Ninh province organized a workshop to consult and review the draft plan and draft resolution on the rapid and sustainable development of Quang Ninh province's marine economy until 2030, with a vision to 2045. The workshop was attended by experts, members of the review board, and representatives from relevant departments and agencies.

The draft plan and draft resolution on the rapid and sustainable development of Quang Ninh province's marine economy until 2030, with a vision to 2045, sets a target of over 14% growth in the marine and coastal economy by 2025, contributing to the province's overall GRDP growth target of 14%, with the motto "Breakthrough in economic development, creating momentum for the new term".

The average growth rate of the marine and coastal economy is projected to reach 10% or more during the 2026-2030 period; by 2030, the purely marine economy will account for approximately 25% of GRDP; the marine and coastal economy will account for approximately 85% of GRDP, with coastal localities contributing over 90% of the provincial budget; coastal urban areas, economic zones, and industrial parks will be developed according to planning; and integrated dynamic economic clusters will be formed, acting as hubs for marine economic development.

Experts attending the workshop assessed that the project was meticulously developed with content appropriate to the situation of Quang Ninh province. They also contributed practical opinions and raised several issues that need further clarification, such as: Focusing on implementing solutions to ensure rapid, sustainable, and effective marine economic development based on green development and the unique marine culture of the locality; clearly identifying the drivers of Quang Ninh's marine economic development; researching the application of science and technology and digital transformation to develop the marine economy...

The opinions expressed at the workshop were taken into account by the relevant units to further develop and refine the project and resolution.
