The Literature and Arts Associations of Phu Yen and Dak Lak provinces discussed and agreed on the merger.

In Buon Ma Thuot City (Dak Lak Province), the Executive Board of the Phu Yen Provincial Literature and Arts Association and the Executive Board of the Dak Lak Provincial Literature and Arts Association recently had a meeting to discuss the merger between the two associations after the merger of Phu Yen and Dak Lak provinces. Writer Nie Thanh Mai, Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial Literature and Arts Association and poet Huynh Van Quoc, Executive Vice Chairman of the Phu Yen Provincial Literature and Arts Association co-chaired the meeting.

Resolution No. 60-NQ/TW dated April 12, 2025 of the 11th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee oriented to merge Phu Yen and Dak Lak provinces into a new province named Dak Lak. Accordingly, the merger is not a "summation" but a "resonance" to create a new development future. With a natural area of more than 18,000 km ² , a population of over 3.3 million people; having sea, forest, agriculture, industry and an international "gateway", the new Dak Lak province will be a model in development thinking. When the East-West and North-South economic corridors are being completed, this new land will be the center of strategic development in the South Central Coast - Central Highlands.

During the meeting, the two sides frankly discussed and pointed out the difficulties in the merger and agreed to jointly develop a merger project in the direction of maintaining the current status of the two units, completing it as soon as possible to submit to the competent authority for decision. At the same time, affirming the strategic vision and policy of the Party to merge Phu Yen - Dak Lak is not simply an administrative name, but also an exchange and development. The unique culture of the two lands - one side is the majestic Central Highlands, the other side is the peaceful, rich-in-identity coast, is the foundation for building a unified, consensual community.
