More than 1.1 million candidates registered for the 2025 high school graduation exam

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, as of 5:00 p.m. on April 28, the Ministry's exam registration portal recorded 1,165,289 candidates registering for the 2025 high school graduation exam, an increase of 93,894 registrations compared to last year (in 2024, the total number of candidates registering for the high school graduation exam was 1,071,395).

Of which, 1,122,507 grade 12 candidates studying the 2018 GeneralEducation Program (accounting for 96.33%); 42,782 independent candidates (accounting for 3.67%).

Among independent candidates, the number of candidates registering for the 2018 General Education Program exam was 16,072 (accounting for 1.38%); the number of candidates registering for the 2006 General Education Program exam was 26,711 (accounting for 2.29%).

The 2025 high school graduation exam will take place on June 26 and 27. On June 25, candidates will go to the exam location on the notice to complete the exam registration procedures.

It is expected that the exam results will be announced by the Departments of Education and Training at 8:00 a.m. on July 16, 2025. By July 18, 2025 at the latest, high schools will complete the process of recognizing students' graduation.

From 2025, candidates studying the 2018 General Education Program taking the high school graduation exam will only take 4 subjects, including 2 compulsory subjects (Literature, Mathematics) and 2 elective subjects (among the remaining subjects studied in grade 12 including: Foreign Language, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology.

The Literature exam will be in essay format with a duration of 120 minutes. The exam consists of 2 parts: Reading (4 points) and Writing (6 points).

The remaining subjects will be tested in multiple-choice format, with Math taking 90 minutes and the remaining subjects taking 50 minutes.
