More than 1 million candidates have registered for the 2025 high school graduation exam

Of the 1,031,163 candidates who registered for the exam, 1,002,237 were grade 12 candidates taking the exam according to the 2018 generaleducation program, accounting for 97.19%.

The number of independent candidates registered was 28,926 candidates, accounting for 2.81%. Of which, 12,405 independent candidates took the exam under the 2018 general education program (accounting for 1.2%) and 16,522 independent candidates took the exam under the 2006 general education program (accounting for 1.6%).

The Ministry of Education and Training notes that the online registration period is from April 21 to 5:00 p.m. on April 28.

This year, the high school graduation exam will take place on June 26-27. Previously, the Ministry of Education and Training expected more than 1.1 million students to take the graduation exam. Compared to last year, the number of candidates increased from 1.06 to over 1.1 million, about 40,000 higher (this number is the group of students graduating this year, not including independent candidates).

Candidates taking the graduation exam for the first time under the 2018 general education program must take four exams, including Math and Literature. In addition, candidates must choose two subjects they have studied at school (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economics and Law, Information Technology, Technology and Foreign Language).

Candidates taking the old program (2006 program) will take the Literature, Math, Foreign Language exams, and one of two exams: Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Social Sciences (History, Geography, Civic Education).

High school graduation exam scores for 2025 were announced on July 16.
