More than 11,200 candidates registered for high school graduation exam

According to statistics, the whole province has 11,251 candidates registered for the high school graduation exam. Of these, 10,836 candidates registered for the graduation exam and university and college admissions. The remaining candidates registered for the exam only to get the graduation exam results or to take the exam to get the score as a basis for university admissions.

Of the total 11,251 candidates registered for the exam, in addition to the number of candidates studying in the generaleducation and continuing education systems, there are 87 independent candidates (taking the exam according to the 2018 General Education Program) and 291 independent candidates (taking the exam according to the 2006 General Education Program).

Among the subjects, there are three subjects appearing for the first time in the high school graduation exam, including Information Technology and Technology ( agriculture and industry). The number of candidates registering for these three subjects is very small, with 14 candidates registering for Information Technology, 2 candidates registering for Technology (industry) and 93 candidates registering for Technology (agriculture).

The 2025 high school graduation exam will be conducted according to the "2 plus 2" plan, meaning candidates must take two compulsory subjects including Literature and Math plus two elective subjects.

According to the new regulations, the 2025 high school graduation exam will have two types of exam questions: one for students studying the 2018 General Education Program and one for students studying the 2006 General Education Program but have not yet graduated from high school.

The exam consists of 3 sessions: 1 session of Literature, 1 session of Mathematics and 1 session of an optional test including 2 subjects from the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Industrial Technology (abbreviated as Industrial Technology), Agricultural Technology (abbreviated as Agricultural Technology), Foreign Languages (English, Russian, French, Chinese, German, Japanese and Korean.

Compared to before, the 2025 high school graduation exam will reduce the number of subjects and therefore the number of exam sessions, as the exam will only take place in three sessions, or one and a half days. The two subjects of Literature and Mathematics will each be tested in one session, and in the remaining session, candidates will take two optional subjects. To register for university admission, in addition to Literature or Mathematics, candidates can choose any two of the optional subjects to form a three-subject exam block according to their personal wishes. Thus, the three-subject combination exam according to the 2006 General Education Program no longer exists.
