According to the organizers, more than 2,000 people working at the Department of Health , medical facilities, and students from many universities and colleges in the city participated in the 2.5 km walk.

On this occasion, the health sector of Can Tho City received a total of nearly 1.2 billion VND in funding for "supporting poor patients" from various supporting organizations.

Mr. Hoang Quoc Cuong, Director of the Can Tho City Department of Health, said: The Can Tho health sector organized a ceremony to celebrate 70 years of following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings and launched the "Walk Towards Poor Patients" campaign to raise money and materials to help poor patients with difficult circumstances who are receiving treatment at medical facilities in the area.

The health sector in Can Tho City has received a total of nearly 1.2 billion VND in funding for "supporting poor patients" from various organizations.

According to the Director of the Can Tho Department of Health, over the past year, the city's health sector has successfully fulfilled its nhiệm vụ of protecting and caring for the health of the people, contributing to ensuring social welfare in the city. The health system has been increasingly strengthened and improved in quality, and the socialization of healthcare has achieved many positive results. The scale and capacity of examination, treatment, and service provision of the health system have been enhanced and expanded.

Particularly in 2024, using funds raised from previous years to support grassroots healthcare, the Department of Health supported the implementation of the Family Doctor model at the Thạnh Tiến Commune Health Station, Thuận Hưng Ward, and Thường Thạnh Ward Health Station. The city's health sector has been and continues to strengthen and increase investment in human resources, equipment, and facilities from the city level to the commune and ward levels to meet the healthcare needs of the people in the city and neighboring provinces.
