More than 2,000 people participated in fire drills

On October 1, Quang Ninh province coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security to organize a firefighting and search and rescue drill. The drill had the participation of more than 2,000 people from various units and functional forces.

The situation and context of the exercise took place in Bai Chay ward, Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province with assumptions made on land, at sea and in the air.

Smoke, dust, and toxic gas filled the building, causing about 800 people on all floors of the building to panic and look for an escape route.

At the same time, on Ha Long Street in front of Wyndham Hotel, the driver of a gasoline tanker truck, due to loss of concentration and avoiding people, crashed into a chemical truck traveling in the same direction. The accident caused gasoline to spill and Class A nitric acid to leak outside, in front of and inside Van Hai Hotel.

At this time, outside the Cua Luc sea area, there was a collision between two tourist boats, the cause of which was that the boat driver lost his temper and was too busy observing the fire on the shore, causing the boat to catch fire and an oil spill. The accident caused many people on the boat to fall into the sea, many people were trapped on the burning boat, endangering their lives if not rescued promptly.

A hypothetical situation occurred at Cua Luc beach during a firefighting drill in Quang Ninh province.

After 60 minutes, the fires were extinguished one by one with the participation of more than 2,000 people and many professional and modern firefighting equipment including helicopters, firefighting robots and professional fire trucks and boats.

According to the assessment of the Organizing Committee, the exercise was a great success, ensuring compliance with the proposed plan, safety, economy and practicality. Through the exercise, it helps to raise awareness, vigilance and responsibility for fire prevention, fire fighting and search and rescue.
