After 5 years of implementation, the National Flag Pride program has presented and signed contracts to present more than 2 million national flags to 54 provinces and cities.
On the morning of July 2, the Lao Dong Newspaper held a ceremony to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Pride of the National Flag program. Reporting at the program, the Editor-in-Chief of the Lao Dong Newspaper, To Dinh Tuan, said that after 5 years of implementing the program, the Lao Dong Newspaper has organized and coordinated more than 310 events nationwide, presenting and signing contracts to present more than 2.1 million national flags to 54 provinces and cities.
Within the framework of the program, there are also other meaningful activities, such as: giving thousands of first aid kits and life buoys to fishermen; along with tens of thousands of scholarships to students who are children of ethnic minorities in border areas, children of soldiers and fishermen who have made efforts to overcome difficulties in studying, contributing to motivating them to improve their lives.
Speaking at the 5th anniversary of the “Pride of the National Flag” program organized by the Lao Dong Newspaper on the morning of July 2, in Ho Chi Minh City, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue, said that the city has many activities towards the border and islands, typically the programs “Border affection”, “Fresh water in the border area”, “Fund for the homeland’s seas and islands, for the frontline of the Fatherland”, especially the program Pride of the National Flag implemented by the Lao Dong Newspaper. It is necessary to promote propaganda and education on the meaning of the national flag, arousing patriotism and national pride in every citizen. At the same time, with the joint efforts of authorities at all levels, departments, branches, unions, social organizations, businesses and people of the city, the program is increasingly going deeper and further, contributing more motivation and pride for fishermen to confidently go out to sea, for soldiers and people in border areas to firmly hold their guns to protect the border.
At the celebration, fisherman Dao Van Tin ( Phu Yen province) shared that over the years, fishermen have always received the attention and support of the Party and the State. The National Flag Pride program has helped fishermen feel more secure every time they go fishing.
“Besides us on every trip out to sea, there are also the accompaniment of state agencies and organizations, giving us more motivation to both develop the economy and participate in protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland,” said fisherman Dao Van Tin.
After 5 years of implementation, the National Flag Pride program of the Lao Dong Newspaper has presented and signed contracts to present more than 2 million national flags to 54 provinces and cities. Of which, more than 1.2 million flags were given to fishermen in 28 provinces and cities; more than 370,000 flags to border guards and people living along 25 border provinces; and more than 533,000 flags to build more than 750 flag routes at historical and cultural relics./.
