The 2025 high school graduation exam is the first graduation exam to be conducted according to the new 2018 General Education Program, so the Department of Education and Training conducts a mock exam for 12th graders before the official exam for many purposes. Through the mock exam, the candidates' readiness is tested and assessed, and based on the mock exam results, the review plan for 12th graders in the remaining time will be adjusted before the official exam takes place.
The high school graduation mock exam will be issued by the Department of Education and Training, closely following the new 2018 General Education Program and the Ministry of Education and Training's sample exam orientation. After issuing the exam questions, the Department will transfer the exam questions to high schools and vocational education and continuing education centers to organize the printing of exam questions and be responsible for keeping the exam questions confidential. The schools are also responsible for organizing the exam marking and synthesizing the exam results to report to the Department.
Each student participating in the high school graduation mock exam will take 2 compulsory exams including Math, Literature and 2 optional exams from the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, History, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology (Industrial Technology or Agricultural Technology) and Foreign Language.
Test format: For Literature, candidates will do essays on test paper, and for the remaining subjects, they will answer on multiple-choice test sheets, according to the form prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training. The test papers and multiple-choice test answer sheets will be prepared by the schools for candidates.
In the 2025 high school graduation exam, in addition to more than 36,600 12th grade candidates studying at high schools and vocational education and continuing education centers, there are also independent candidates, who have not passed the high school graduation exam from 2024 or earlier, or have graduated but want to take the exam to get the university admission results in 2025.
According to information from the Department of Education and Training, to carefully prepare for the 2025 high school graduation exam, the department has advised the Provincial People's Committee to develop a plan to organize the exam, establish a Steering Committee for organizing the provincial exam, with the leader of the Provincial People's Committee as the head of the steering committee, the Department of Education and Training as the standing agency and members being relevant departments and branches.
