Veterinarians are vaccinating the pigs.
Given the complex developments of the epidemic, the Department of Agriculture and Environment advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue directives to departments, agencies, and localities to implement comprehensive measures to prevent and control the epidemic throughout the province.
From the beginning of 2025 to the present, the entire province has administered 73,200 doses of African Swine Fever (ASF) vaccine. Of these, the Department of Livestock and Veterinary Medicine has provided 25,700 doses to communes and wards with outbreaks and high risk, while the remaining 47,500 doses were administered by livestock farmers themselves to their pig herds.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, disease prevention and control efforts still face difficulties. Many localities, after mergers, have not yet had time to assign specialized livestock and veterinary staff, thus limiting their ability to advise on disease prevention and control at the grassroots level.
Furthermore, the lack of allocated funds in many localities has created numerous obstacles in purchasing supplies, chemicals, and vaccines. Therefore, proactive vaccination is a suitable and effective solution, contributing to preventing the widespread spread of African Swine Fever.
