On August 25, the Russian Defense Ministry announced Ukraine's losses in Moscow's special military operation, while the Eastern European country's President Volodymyr Zelensky vowed to work to achieve a "just peace".

TASS news agency reported that according to the announcement of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the country's air defense forces shot down 41 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and 8 HIMARS rockets in the past 24 hours.

As for the situation on the front, the western Russian army groups have moved to more advantageous positions, attacking the troops and equipment of the Ukrainian mechanized brigades in Luhansk, Kherson and Donetsk.

The central army groups continued to advance deeper into the enemy defenses, causing the Ukrainians to lose more than 500 troops.

The Eastern Task Force improved its tactical position, attacking Ukrainian troops and equipment near Ugledar, Vodyanoye, Shakhtyorsk, Prechistovka and Zolotaya Niva, causing 130 Ukrainian servicemen casualties during the day.

Units of the Southern Battle Group improved their positions at the front line, striking hard in the directions of Pereyezdnoye, Zaliznyanksoye, Grigorovka, Raigorodok, Chasov Yar, Kurdyumvoka, Pleshcheyevka, Kurakhovo, Katerinovka and Konstantinovka.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, a total of more than 90,000 Ukrainian vehicles, military equipment and weapons have been destroyed since Moscow began its special military operation, including 640 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 30,475 unmanned aerial vehicles, 575 missile systems, 17,566 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,425 multiple rocket launchers and 13,621 field guns and mortars, as well as 25,200 military vehicles.

Meanwhile, on the same day, AFP news agency quoted President Volodymyr Zelensky as saying that Kiev will not cease fire nor give up territories in exchange for peace.

Mentioning that the purpose of the attack on Kursk was to prevent possible attacks on Sumy province across the Ukrainian border, Mr. Zelensky added that all of Ukraine's actions were aimed at "forcing Russia to be ready for a fair world."

According to President Zelensky, the only process that Ukraine supports is a peace formula, which would “ restore the territorial integrity” of the country, “but if we cannot” end the conflict diplomatically, “we will do our best to have the military ready to force Russia to leave our territory.”

Kiev remains determined to implement President Zelensky's "peace formula", according to which Russia needs to withdraw its troops to the 1991 borders, but Moscow still rejects this option, arguing that the border needs to follow the reality on the battlefield.

In addition, Kiev also accused neighboring Belarus of “concentrating” “a large number of military personnel… in the Gomel region near the northern border of Ukraine under the guise of military exercises.”

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry “warned Belarusian officials not to make mistakes with tragic consequences for their country,” and called on the armed forces of the neighboring country to “cease unfriendly actions, withdraw troops” to positions safe for Kiev.
