Cristina, 52, was unable to adapt to life in Manchester and returned to Spain five years ago. Meanwhile, Guardiola chose to stay in England to continue his work at Man City. The Guardiola couple agreed to separate in December 2024, just weeks after the Spanish coach signed a new contract with Man City.

Just days after their strained relationship was reported on social media, Guardiola and Serra were spotted together again in Barcelona. They were reportedly seen spending the night at his home and even wearing their wedding rings. It seemed as though the Manchester City manager and his wife might have reconciled, but that didn't happen.

Their relationship is beyond saving.

According to sources, Guardiola and Serra hope to maintain a close relationship after their divorce. Recently, they both attended a concert with their children, Maria (24) and Marius (22), but no family photos were taken together.

Spanish media reported that Guardiola also no longer appeared comfortable alongside Serra. Both "appeared reserved and somewhat polite" when appearing together, while awaiting the completion of their divorce proceedings.

The nearly 30-year relationship between Guardiola and Serra reportedly fractured at the end of 2023. Serra claimed that Guardiola was too focused on his career and no longer dedicated time to his family.
