This Honda model will be equipped with an intelligent driving system from China's leading technology brand - a decision believed to meet the expectations of Japanese investors.
Honda's Ye P7 model was recently shared
The report said that Chinese customers are fond of “homemade” technology and Honda is working hard to bring products that suit this taste. The first two Honda models expected to be equipped with Huawei’s intelligent driving system are the Ye S7 and Ye P7.
Not a random choice for Honda
Experts say that Honda's choice of Huawei as the supplier of intelligent driving systems for its special models for the Chinese market is no coincidence. The Chinese company is currently one of the largest suppliers of driving assistance systems in China and has achieved many successes in this market segment. A typical example is Huawei's latest Qiankun ADS system, which is said to bring a driving experience closer to human feelings.
This isn’t the first time Honda and Huawei have collaborated in the automotive space. Huawei previously produced smart cockpits for Honda, so the new partnership is simply a further step in the two companies’ partnership.
The Honda Ye S7 is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2025 in the Chinese market. This is a mid-size electric SUV developed on Honda's W architecture. The Ye S7 will be equipped with an 89.8 kWh lithium battery from CATL, promising a maximum range of up to 620 km. The SUV will have a 4-wheel drive system with 2 motors: a 150 horsepower motor at the front and a 200 horsepower motor at the rear. The car is expected to reach a maximum speed of 180 km/h.
