Meeting of the Steering Committee of the Provincial Congress of Ethnic Minorities

(Baoquangngai.vn) - On the afternoon of August 12, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Phien chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee (SC) of the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas of Quang Ngai Province - 2024 to listen to a report on the preparations for the congress. Attending the meeting were members of the congress' SC.

According to the report of the Provincial Ethnic Committee, up to now, the Congress Steering Committee has issued documents assigning tasks to members, decided to establish sub-committees to assist the Steering Committee, planned to organize the congress, assigned tasks to members of the Congress Organizing Committee, allocated the number of official delegates, and issued instructions on commendation work at the congress.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Phien chaired the meeting.

The congress is called: "The 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Quang Ngai Province - 2024". The theme of the congress is "Ethnic communities in Quang Ngai province unite, innovate, create, promote advantages, potentials, integrate and develop sustainably". The provincial congress is expected to be held for 2 days, in October 2024. The total number of official delegates is 250, and the expected number of invited delegates is 84. The provincial congress will organize activities such as: Visiting the provincial Martyrs' Cemetery; displaying agricultural products and images of ethnic minority culture...

At the meeting, delegates focused on discussing and agreeing on a number of contents regarding the organization of the congress such as: Drafting reports, documents, and related materials; direction, assignment of tasks, number of delegates, time, composition, emulation and reward work and necessary conditions for the successful organization of the congress...

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Phien, Head of the Congress Steering Committee, basically agreed with the expected contents of the congress and agreed on the time to organize the congress to be completed in early October 2024.

The Steering Committee is requested to focus on preparations to successfully organize the congress; ensure plans for personnel, content, script, propaganda, celebrations, logistics, cultural and artistic activities, etc. to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere, encourage and motivate ethnic minorities to strive to overcome hunger and reduce poverty, build new rural areas, and contribute to the construction of the homeland.
