Muong Khuong develops concentrated, large-scale raw material areas with key crops such as tea, bananas, and pineapples.
Established in 2015, Thinh Phong Cooperative currently has 11 official members and 50 seasonal workers. Located in the province's key agricultural commodity area, the cooperative focuses on linking with households growing 35 hectares of pineapple. Being self-sufficient in production, along with providing agricultural materials, encouraging members and households to link up to produce according to safe processes and purchasing all products for people at stable prices, the worry of "good harvest, low price" is no longer there, people can rest assured in production. "As a child of this land, I want to bring local agricultural products to other provinces. I have also researched and contacted factories and companies to consume pineapple products," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, Director of Thinh Phong Cooperative, Muong Khuong district.
"The cooperative helps people consume products, they are very excited, they don't have to worry about output," said Ms. Luong Thi Sim, Na Pao village, Ban Lau commune, Muong Khuong district.
On average, each year, Thinh Phong Cooperative supplies the market with about 5,000 - 6,000 tons of various agricultural products.
Along with pineapples, the cooperative also buys bananas and fresh tea for people and invests in processing dried tea. On average, each year the cooperative supplies the market with about 5,000 - 6,000 tons of various agricultural products, which are well received by the market; the average revenue of the cooperative reaches nearly 10 billion VND/year. Deep processing associated with building product brands is a major goal that the cooperative is aiming for. "What I want most is to have a production line to take advantage of small pineapples that cannot be supplied to the factory, then I will take those products and process them into floor cleaner or dishwashing liquid," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, Director of Thinh Phong Cooperative, Muong Khuong district.
"Over the years, Thinh Phong Cooperative has made many contributions to promoting local production development to increase income for farming households, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction," said Mr. Dinh Trong Khoi, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Muong Khuong district.
Muong Khuong has been developing concentrated, large-scale raw material areas with key crops such as tea, bananas, pineapples, etc. The operational efficiency of cooperatives, including Thinh Phong Cooperative, will contribute significantly to the locality's successful implementation of the strategy of developing commodity agriculture, creating jobs and income for people, promoting economic and social development goals, and building sustainable new rural areas.
