On the evening of October 26, the Department of Education and Training of Hue City announced that it would notify all students in the area to stay home from school on October 27 to ensure safety in the conditions of heavy rain and rising river water.
On the same day, the Hue City Civil Defense Command said that about 5,000 police and military officers and soldiers and rescue vehicles were ready to deploy in case of flood situations.

On the same afternoon, the Phu Bai ward authorities mobilized all their forces to evacuate nearly 30 households in areas at high risk of landslides, mainly concentrated in Ho, Buong Tam and Thanh Van villages. These are areas located along the Ta Trach river - an area that has recorded landslides many times in recent years, especially during periods of prolonged heavy rain.
Neighboring wards such as Huong Thuy and Thanh Thuy urgently reviewed and prepared plans to evacuate hundreds of households in low-lying areas at risk of riverbank landslides, ready to relocate before the river water level rises.


Faced with the complicated weather situation, the wards proactively contacted and arranged temporary shelters for the people. Many households were encouraged to move to solid houses of relatives, or village cultural houses, schools, and administrative offices.

It is forecasted that from 4 p.m. on October 26 to 4 p.m. on October 28, Hue City will have heavy rain and very heavy rain. Total rainfall is generally 250-500mm, with some places over 700mm. Warning: from noon on October 28 to 29, Hue City will continue to have heavy rain and very heavy rain. In late October and early November, heavy rain in Hue City will continue to be very complicated. Warning level of natural disaster risk due to heavy rain: level 1-2.
Heavy rains are likely to cause flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas and along rivers and streams in the following wards/communes: A Luoi 1-5, Phong Dien, Binh Dien, Long Quang, Nam Dong, Khe Tre, Phu Loc, Loc An, Chan May - Lang Co... In addition, heavy rains also pose a high risk of causing floods in low-lying areas downstream of rivers throughout the city. Beware of heavy rains with high intensity of over 70mm/hour and over 150mm/3 hours which can cause widespread urban flooding throughout the city.
