>>> Video : Hue City Department of Water Resources and Climate Change activates 4 flood warning sirens in Hue City, afternoon of October 26.
On the evening of October 26th, the Hue City Department of Education and Training announced that all students in the city would be given a day off from school on October 27th to ensure their safety amidst heavy rain and rising river levels.
On the same day, the Hue City Civil Defense Command announced that approximately 5,000 police and military personnel, along with rescue and relief vehicles, were ready to be deployed should any situation arise during the heavy rains and floods.

Later that same day, the authorities in Phu Bai ward mobilized all available personnel to evacuate nearly 30 households in areas at high risk of landslides, mainly concentrated in Ho, Buong Tam, and Thanh Van villages. These areas are located along the Ta Trach River – a region that has repeatedly experienced landslides in recent years, especially during periods of heavy and prolonged rainfall.
Neighboring wards such as Huong Thuy and Thanh Thuy are urgently reviewing and preparing evacuation plans for hundreds of households in low-lying areas at risk of riverbank erosion, ready to relocate them before the river water level rises.

Given the unpredictable weather conditions, the wards proactively contacted and arranged temporary shelters for residents. Many households were encouraged to move to sturdy houses of relatives, or to village cultural centers, schools, or administrative offices.

Forecasts indicate heavy to very heavy rain in Hue City from 4 PM on October 26th to 4 PM on October 28th. Total rainfall is expected to be between 250-500mm, with some areas exceeding 700mm. A warning is issued that heavy to very heavy rain will continue in Hue City from noon on October 28th to 29th. Heavy rainfall in Hue City is expected to remain complex throughout the end of October and the beginning of November. The level of natural disaster risk due to heavy rain is level 1-2.
Heavy rains are likely to cause flash floods and landslides in hilly areas and along rivers and streams in the following wards/communes: A Luoi 1-5, Phong Dien, Binh Dien, Long Quang, Nam Dong, Khe Tre, Phu Loc, Loc An, Chan May - Lang Co... In addition, heavy rains also pose a high risk of flooding in low-lying areas downstream of rivers throughout the city. Be prepared for heavy rainfall exceeding 70mm/hour and over 150mm/3 hours, which could cause widespread urban flooding across the city.
