Hung Yen: Set a goal to correct 'l' and 'n' mistakes for teachers and students this school year

TPO - The Department of Education and Training of Hung Yen requires teachers and students to overcome the problem of mispronouncing the consonants "l" and "n". The goal is that this school year, 80% of teachers and 50% of students will overcome the problem of mispronouncing and misspelled words.

In the 2025-2026 school year, the Department of Education and Training of Hung Yen issued a plan to overcome the problem of mispronouncing and misspelled the initial consonants "l" and "n" for staff and teachers.

The goal is to build a healthy cultural communication environment, reading - writing - speaking - listening to standard Vietnamese, preserving the purity of the Vietnamese language, contributing to the formation of Vietnamese personality in the new era.

The Department of Education and Training of Hung Yen province requires schools to include correcting the mispronunciation of "l" and "n" as one of the tasks of this school year.

This Department aims to disseminate to staff, teachers and students the importance of correct pronunciation and spelling; and to recognize and consciously overcome mistakes in pronunciation and spelling.

For cadres and teachers in educational institutions in the province who mispronounce "l" and "n", strive to overcome 80%; students overcome 50%.

By the 2027-2030 period, strive for 100% of staff, teachers and 80% of students to overcome pronunciation and spelling mistakes.

The proposed solution is that kindergartens, general schools, and vocational education and training centers should launch a movement to correct the confusion of pronunciation of "l" and "n" for staff and teachers.

Make the content of correcting the mispronunciation of "l" and "n" one of the key tasks of the 2025-2026 school year and the following school years, while promoting communication and propaganda activities to encourage cadres, teachers and students to actively self-study and practice; create a standard Vietnamese language communication environment in schools and the community.

The school will launch the movement through collective activities and flag-raising ceremonies at the beginning of the week from September 2025 and complete before October 15.

Hung Yen Department of Education and Training requested that after the launching ceremony, schools proactively organize activities to carry out the movement but not affect regular school hours.
