Missing out on Messi, Al-Hilal spends 200 million euros to welcome Neymar

Saudi Arabian football giant Al-Hilal's ambitions to sign Lionel Messi have been dashed by the Argentine star.

Messi decided not to go to Saudi Arabia to open a new confrontation with Cristiano Ronaldo, but he chose to go to Inter Miami.

To continue the policy of recruiting big stars, after welcoming Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, Saudi Arabian football is targeting Neymar.

The Brazilian player is a close friend of Messi on and off the field, when they played together from Barcelona to PSG.

In the season just ended, Neymar was boycotted by the Paris audience. He and Messi received many boos from the fans at the Parc des Princes stadium.

Neymar is no longer excited to continue playing for PSG, especially since Messi has left.

According to CBS Sports, Al-Hilal is willing to offer Neymar a salary of more than 200 million euros per season, equal to what Ronaldo receives at Al-Nassr.

Al-Hilal is 75% owned by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund. The club, a record 18-time Saudi Pro League champions, has also promised to pay a transfer fee of 45 million euros to PSG.

President Nasser Al-Khelaifi and sporting director Luis Campos are both ready to listen to offers for Neymar. They have run out of patience with the Brazilian's troubles.

Before Al-Hilal contacted, according to French press, PSG even considered the possibility of letting Neymar leave for free, when his salary was up to 3.6 million euros per month.

Several Al-Hilal officials traveled to Paris last Friday to inquire about Neymar's situation. Both sides hope to complete the transfer negotiations soon.
