In the 65th minute, when the Vietnamese women's team was leading the Thai women's team with a score of 1-0, Huynh Nhu took advantage of a mistake from the opponent's wrong pass in the middle of the field to escape. The striker wearing the number 9 shirt needed two consecutive shots to put the ball into the net, doubling the gap for the Vietnamese women's team. This was the first goal of the Vietnamese women's team captain at the 2025 AFF Women's Cup, at the same time ending a streak of nearly two years without a goal at the national team level, since her last goal in September 2023.

This goal has a special meaning for Huynh Nhu, not only because it helps relieve the pressure after a long wait, but also consolidates the victory of the Vietnamese women's team in the honorable match against the regional rival. With that goal, the striker born in 1991 continues to affirm her leadership role despite turning 34 years old.

The rematch against Thailand was not easy. The home team started the game quite deadlocked in the first half when the opponent's defense played focused and tight. It was not until the 42nd minute that the turning point came when Pham Hai Yen scored, opening the score 1-0 for Vietnam. This goal relieved the psychological pressure, helping the red team easily deploy a more coherent attacking style in the second half.

After Huynh Nhu scored, the mental advantage belonged to coach Mai Duc Chung and his team. Just three minutes later, Bich Thuy raised the score to 3-0 with a decisive shot in the penalty area. Meanwhile, the Thai women's team scored an honorary goal in the 87th minute, ending a match in which they continued to be inferior to their fateful opponents.

With this result, the Vietnamese women's team won the bronze medal of the 2025 AFF Women's Cup, while Thailand continued to go empty-handed in the tournament. In the group stage, the two teams met and Huynh Nhu and her teammates won 1-0.
