The first images captured by KindelAuto show that the 2026 Hyundai Elantra C-segment sedan will enter a completely new design chapter, more sporty and modern, continuing Hyundai's success in blending sharp style with advanced technology. Despite being carefully camouflaged, the new generation Hyundai Elantra still reveals many details that show an ambitious appearance. The front of the car stands out with angular daytime running lights integrated with a long LED strip, and a sharp rectangular grille.
The body design has a coupe-like style with a low roof, thick shoulders, muscular rear wheel arches and sharp taillights - details reminiscent of Hyundai's N Vision 74 concept, which once caused a big stir among enthusiasts. Immediately after the test photos were revealed, the Gotcha Cars team released a detailed rendering with 90% accuracy compared to the commercial version. In fact, the lines in the photos almost match the rendering, especially the wheel arches, headlights and new LED positioning strip. Despite the strong electrification trend globally, Hyundai has decided to maintain the internal combustion engine line for the Hyundai Elantra sedan for at least one more generation.
The slow rollout of the electrification roadmap means the 2026 Elantra will launch as an upgraded gasoline version, rather than going all-electric, industry sources say. However, hybrid and alternative fuel variants will continue to be offered. Besides the new design, the 2027 Elantra is expected to retain the current engine options, including a 1.6L gasoline engine, an LPG version for some markets, and a hybrid powertrain. This helps Hyundai's sedan maintain its strengths in performance, reliability and cost-effectiveness, while the brand focuses resources on strategic electric vehicles.
The new Hyundai Elantra will be launched globally in 2026. With leaked images that almost confirm the final product's appearance, the new generation Elantra is expected to become a prominent factor in the compact sedan segment, where competition is increasingly fierce but also full of potential.
