The new Hyundai Palisade will use the same engine technology as the Santa Fe that will be sold in Vietnam.

The next generation Hyundai Palisade will launch in 2024 with many major changes.

The launch date and powertrain changes of the new Hyundai Palisade have been announced, but the interior and exterior changes will only be clear in the coming months.

Hyundai, according to the Korean brand's existing plan, will try to add at least one electrified version to each of its global models. The Hyundai Palisade - the company's current flagship large 3-row SUV, due for a 2024 update, is one of the names that will add a hybrid version in the near future.

According to the Korean newspaper Chosun Biz, Hyundai is preparing to put the next generation of Hyundai Palisade, codenamed LX3, into real-world testing in the "second half of 2023". The car's production plan is expected to start in January 2025 if there are no surprises. Based on the above timeline, the car's launch schedule will take place a little earlier and fall in the late 2024.

As previously confirmed by Drive in 2022, the current generation Hyundai Palisade will not be getting hybrid technology, only its successors will be equipped with it. The existing 2.2L turbocharged diesel engine is said to be directly replaced by a 2.5L hybrid gasoline engine. In addition, a turbocharged 3.5L V6 option will also appear to replace the current 3.8L non-turbo V6.

Another source, ET News, confirmed that the 2025 Hyundai Palisade will have two different hybrid options, one likely being an auxiliary hybrid (main drive by the engine) and the other being a plug-in hybrid (the engine recharges the main drive motor). Two other Hyundai SUVs, the Santa Fe and Tucson, already have this powertrain duo.

Thus, Palisade will join the hybrid lineup with Santa Fe. However, the hybrid configuration on Santa Fe is lower when only using a 1.6L gasoline engine. In Vietnam, Santa Fe hybrid will be sold on the market in the near future.
