According to Wccftech , Intel has confirmed that it will introduce the Battlemage GPU line on December 3, of which the first two products are the Arc B580 and Arc B570, belonging to the Xe2-HPG architecture. This is a new step to compete in the low-cost GPU segment, with the goal of creating a breakthrough in the market.
Intel hopes the Battlemage line will strengthen the Arc brand in the GPU market after the quiet launch of the Arc Alchemist generation.
According to the information announced, the Arc Battlemage B580 series will use the Battlemage BMG-G21 GPU with 20 Xe2 cores, accompanied by 12 GB of GDDR6 memory and a 192-bit bus. This GPU has a maximum clock speed of 2.8 GHz and is integrated with technologies such as Intel Xe Super Sampling (XeSS) and Intel Xe Matrix Extensions (XMX). Meanwhile, the Arc B570 is said to have 18 Xe2 cores, but detailed specifications have not been disclosed by Intel.
Intel will lift the review embargo on the limited edition product on December 12 and launch the GPU line. The AIB version will be released and reviewed a day later, on December 13. This strategy is to attract attention first for the Intel-designed version.
Intel has not yet revealed plans for higher-end or lower-end GPUs, which will likely be clarified at the launch event. The Arc B580 is expected to retail for around $250 to $260, which is considered attractive in the entry-level segment.
The Battlemage line is expected to help Intel consolidate its position in the discrete GPU market, which is still dominated by Nvidia and AMD. By focusing on the low-end segment, Intel will likely target mainstream users and gamers on a budget. More details will be announced at the official event in early December.
