Italy beat Albania 2-1 in Euro 2024 opener

Reigning champions Italy entered Euro 2024 in Germany with doubts over their form and defensive errors cost them against Albania. Dimarco’s wrong throw-in allowed Bajrami to break into the box and finish past Donnarumma in the first minute of the match.

However, it did not take long for Spalletti's team to dominate the game. Bastoni headed home to equalize 1-1 in the 11th minute and just 5 minutes later, Barella had a beautiful long-range shot to help Italy reverse the lead to 2-1.
