In early January this year, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) deducted 15 points from Juventus, claiming that the "Old Lady" had committed financial violations as well as illegal transfer activities in the period 2018-2022.
It was a big shock when Juventus, despite being in good form, was pushed down to mid-table and had little chance of competing for a European Cup spot. However, on the evening of April 20, the Italian Federal Court of Appeal overturned the decision to deduct 15 points from Juventus and continued to investigate additional evidence before finalizing the penalty.

According to the Dailymail , the Federal Court of Appeal assessed that the evidence against Juventus leading to the 15-point penalty was unclear, and the judges questioned why Juventus was penalized 15 points while the Italian Football Federation initially proposed a penalty of 9 points.
The process of re-examining the evidence as well as finding new evidence will prolong this case until the end of this year at the earliest. If the points deduction is still applied, Juventus will be deducted next season (2023-24) instead of this season.
With eight games remaining in Serie A, the Federal Court of Appeal's decision has seen Juventus jump from seventh to third in the table, with 59 points from 30 games. Although they are still 16 points behind leaders Napoli, Juventus are now among the four teams that have qualified for next season's Champions League.
On the contrary, AC Milan from fourth place was pushed down to fifth place and is 3 points behind top 4 AS Roma, 6 points behind Juventus.
In addition to receiving good news in the domestic league, Juventus is facing the opportunity to win the Europa League championship after defeating Sporting Lisbon to be among the four teams that have won tickets to the semi-finals. The Turin team's opponent in the semi-finals is Sevilla - the team that just defeated Man Utd 3-0 in the second leg of the quarter-finals on the morning of May 21.
