Accordingly, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training requires all educational institutions in the capital to include folk games in schools. The organization of folk games must be regular, safe, economical, effective, and appropriate to the grade level.
Depending on gender, age, grade level, and physical facilities, schools can choose a number of folk games such as capture the flag, dragon and snake, tug of war, blind man's buff, boat racing on land, sack race, hopscotch, cat and mouse, crocodile ashore, jump rope, cockfighting, hopscotch, palanquin carrying, flower planting, and news passing to propagate, introduce, and organize for students to play.
In addition to the above games, schools can choose other folk games to suit the conditions of the school and locality.
The time to organize these games is during physical education classes, flag salutes, class activities, group activities or extracurricular activities.
Schools prepare facilities based on the principle of making the most of available physical conditions, equipment, and invested projects, ensuring professional requirements and absolute safety.
According to the plan, educational institutions must regularly organize practice and exchange of folk games, encourage students to participate, thereby grasping the psychology of students of their age.
According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, organizing folk games in schools aims to continue to maintain and promote the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", contributing to improving health, enhancing spiritual and cultural life, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere in schools.
This also contributes to creating a healthy and useful playground for students in general schools in the city, creating opportunities for students of educational institutions to know, learn and participate in folk games.
Through this, children are trained in life skills, contributing to personality formation and comprehensive education. This activity also aims to preserve and promote traditional cultural values of the nation.
