The Hue City Department of Health announced that it has received complaints on social media regarding food safety issues at the Center for National Defense and Security Education (Hue University). According to the complaints, students reported that the fish sauce contained cockroaches, the fish cakes contained maggots, and the vegetable soup contained worms.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Hue City Department of Health quickly formed an inspection team to verify the reported content.
Upon inspection, the center's kitchen is managed by the Hanoi branch of Loc Gia Construction Investment Trading Joint Stock Company. This unit possesses all necessary permits ensuring food safety and hygiene.
Food processing staff receive food safety training and are certified by the business owner; they comply with regulations on health, practices for food processors and sellers, and food safety requirements for food service establishments.
However, at the time of inspection, this facility was found to be in violation of legal regulations regarding food sample retention. The Department of Health will proceed with administrative procedures to handle food safety violations as prescribed by law.

Regarding the complaints about "fish sauce containing cockroaches," "fish cakes containing maggots," and "vegetable soup containing worms," a representative from the Hue City Department of Health stated that the inspection team had worked directly with representatives from the establishments and the Center for National Defense and Security Education (Hue University).
During the meeting, the institution stated that it had not received any direct feedback from students, only accessing information through posts and images on social media and in the press.
During the meeting, the facility's representative acknowledged that the complaint about "worms in the vegetable soup" was true. The representative apologized to all students and committed to rectifying the situation and preventing similar incidents from happening again during the dialogue with students on the morning of May 15th.
Upon inspection, the kitchen was found to have a sample of fish cake from the lunch served on May 14th. The fish cake sample (the retained sample) showed no abnormalities. Regarding the complaint about "cockroaches in the fish sauce," the inspection team stated that there was insufficient evidence to draw a conclusion.

The accompanying images show a bowl of fish sauce with a strange creature resembling a cockroach; a bowl of vegetable soup containing worms; and a piece of sausage with what appears to be maggots. After being posted, the article attracted public attention. Most people expressed outrage over the lack of food safety and hygiene at this center and demanded that authorities investigate the matter.
