The Kick-off tournament is jointly organized by Vietnam Robotics Education & Competition (VREC) and Vovinam Digital, under the auspices of the National Innovation Center - NIC and technical sponsorship by KidsCode Education Joint Stock Company (KC Education).
The successful organization of this tournament will officially kick off the Vietnam National Championship VEX Robotics 2026. According to the Organizing Committee, starting this year, Kick-off will be held annually on October 2 as part of activities to celebrate National Innovation Day.

The Kick-off tournament is held in the form of a scrimmage match, where teams take on the challenges of the new season for the first time.
The event is not only an opportunity for students to test their ability to build strategies, compete, and operate robots; but also an opportunity for them to exchange, learn, and connect with the robotics community nationwide.
The event attracted the participation of 31 teams from many primary, secondary and high schools across the country, competing in two main categories, including 26 teams competing in the VEX IQ category (primary and secondary school) and six teams competing in the VEX V5 category (high school level and above).
With a serious, creative and enthusiastic competitive spirit, the teams brought impressive performances, demonstrating thorough investment in strategic thinking, technique, practice and problem solving...

Within the framework of the Vietnam National Championship VEX Robotics 2026, the VEX IQ robotics competition theme is "Mix and Match".
This is a strategy and stacking game, played on a 6ft x 8ft field, where two teams (red and blue) work together to maximize their score. The objective is to use robots to create stacks from game items (pins and beams) and place them in different target areas.
The key strategy is to create stacks of various colors to achieve high bonus points. Beams act as "wild cards" that help teams maximize their score. The Standoff target in the center of the field is the key to achieving the highest score. The competition is played in three main formats: Teamwork Challenge (teamwork for 60 seconds), Driving Skill Challenge (controlling the robot) and Autonomous Programming Skill Challenge (robot operating on its own).
Meanwhile, the theme of the VEX V5 robotics competition is Push Back - a challenge of speed, strength and strategy. The game requires teams to design robots that are both strong in defense and flexible in attack to control the competition area and score points.
After a day of exciting competition, the tournament results have been announced. Here is the Kick-off Tournament standings:
VEX IQ-Primary School Board: League champions: Doraemonster team (Archimedes Academy Primary School, Hanoi ) and Ironbots team (Cau Giay Secondary School, Hanoi); Secondary School Board: League champions: GIANT team (Ly Tu Trong Secondary School, Phu Tho) and Delta Robotics team (Olympia School, Vinschool, Edison School).
VEX V5: Best team VEX V5: SWITCH (Vinschool and Brighton College Vietnam).
